Laura's Sketch #8

This card is based on Laura's sketch at http://www.2sketches4you.blogspot.com/. For some reason I had a really tough time with this one. The sketch was not very complex, which left room for a lot of creativity. I just couldn't get it quite right, this was actually my 3rd attempt! But know I am pretty please with it.

Books

Okay so I am going to use my blog as a place for me to keep track of books I have read and what I thought. I had been doing this on index cards but that takes too much room!

First off here is my ranking:

5 - the best, will purchase and read many times!
4- very good book would recommend!
3- good
2- wouldn't recommend
1- couldn't even finish!

Okay here are the books I read in past two weeks:

1. Sister Chicks Down Under by Robin Jones Gunn (3/5)
A series that doesn't have to be read in order. Good Christian read about God's Love.

2. Swapping Lives by Jane Green (1/5)
Two women swap lives to find out if the grass is really greener on the other side. Didn't like the premise of the book, found the storyline unbelievable and could not get into it.

3. The Whitney Chronicles by Judy Baer (4/5)
One woman's quest to find a "fabulous, single, Christian man." A good read about life, faith and getting it right. The main character starts a journal...since i have just do the same it really interesting for me.

4. Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella (4/5)
Love this author. This one is about a women who is 28, has an accident and wakes up in the hospital and can't remember the past 3 years.

5. Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot (3/5)
Cute, quick read. Will probably read more by this author.

birthday card

So I made of a couple these for my mom and Jay's mom for their b-days...they are just 4 days apart. I didn't take a pic of the inside, but I made a multi-layer flower and put in it.

Match Game

Okay so here is one of the projects I have been working on. It is a birthday gift for my friend's little girl. I got the idea off of the cricut message board. I am sorry I didn't get the crafter's name..if I see it again I will add it here. Any way I am pretty pleased with how they turned out. I just have to laminate them and mail them to her!!!

Sketch Saturday DT Challenge

Over at Sketch Saturday, they are having a Design Team call. You had to make two items, with one being a
Christmas theme, using the sketch provided as inspiration. The first one I did is a card for my best friend's mom who husband just passed away after battling cancer.
The inside of the card says: The Season for Mourning Like Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter Will Also Pass - Molly Fumia
I have always wanted to use the Tree on the Zooballo Cartridge and when I came across this poem I knew it would be perfect for it.
The second item I made is a flipbook for a baby's first Christmas. I used the onsies from the New Arrival Cartridge to make the pages. If anyone has any questions about the other supplies I used to make these projects please let me know. I think that it would be so much fun to be apart of a design team, but there is so much talent out there! I have my fingers crossed!

Kazan sketch #7

Here is my take on the challenge over at 2sketches4you.blogspot.com. This is the first time I have used a sketch to make a project. It was interesting because I wanted to put my own take on it with out copying exactly. I'm not sure how sucessful I was at that. I also want to use my scrapbook supplies that I have had for a long time but never used, so that made it a little more challenging!

1st Attempt at a word book

This is my first attempt at a word book. I definently can see how the cricut expression would come in handy. I had to make the template by hand, so it took a while!

Better get to work!

Okay so I have not made anything today...not doing so well on my goal! But I have a little time before dinner and I am going to do a card, hopefully will post it tonight....okay so the card I was working on didn't turn out like I hoped, so I finished my friend's album instead.
